How the math works

7 courts × 4 players = 28 on court each round, so 4 sit out. Sit-outs rotate so nobody sits twice before everyone has sat once.

Everyone has played the same number of games every 8 rounds (7 games each). Stopping on an even stop keeps the standings fair.
