How the math works

Players per round

1 court × 4 players = 4 on court each round, so 1 sit out. Sit-outs rotate so nobody sits twice before everyone has sat once.

Even stops

Everyone has played the same number of games every 5 rounds (4 games each). Stopping on an even stop keeps the standings fair.

Time estimate

Rally scoring to 11 takes about 12 minutes plus 2 minutes to rotate. 5 rounds ≈ 1h 10m; 10 rounds ≈ 2h 20m. Side-out scoring adds about 30%.
